"Aor Shoar" a Celtic band will be playing Manchester at the Irish Heritage Centre on Friday 13th October 2006 at 9pm. Some money from the evening will be donated to the Jimmy Johnstone memorial fund and the centre will confirm this as well. The family of young Brendan Greenway from Inverclyde would like to pass on their thanks to various folks throughout Scotland who have helped them out in donating gifts for an auction and raffle draws that has helped raise enough funds for their son who has suffered illness since his birth over 18 years ago.

In particular Gerry & Roz Greenway pass on their thanks to Celtic FC players and ticket office staff John Paul Taylor and Hilary Thomas, staff and players from Greenock Morton FC, staff and employees from Amazon factory in Gourock. Gerry & Roz would also like to mention the staff and customers of the Black Cat Bar in Greenock together with the Bookmaker for the night Tanza who helped arrange the Race Night.

The event on the evening raised close to £2000 and the funds will go forward to help young Brendan get some essential equipment that will help him out in the very near future.

This is a very good site,although a chat room wouldnt go amiss as it would enable supporters to get some information on different topics.I myself have spent hours upon end on the net trying to get one question in particular answered.Im from ireland and its not that often i get to matches so its usually at home or the pub for me,well anyway to cut a long story short there is a channel that shows live celtic matches that arent on sky or setanta.A local pub seems to get them from a norwegian channel though they seem to shroud in secrecy how they get it.So if anyone knows of this or how to get it i would be grateful if they could post it or email the details of it.Cheers ,cmon the hoops.

Charity collection day. Sunday 8th January 2006 – CLYDE MATCH Local Celtic fans will be holding a bucket/can collection day in aid of St Andrews Hospice Airdrie before the Clyde game at Broadwood stadium. Can I call on the Celtic faithful to contribute to this as we always do. St Andrews Hospice is Lanarkshire's only Hospice and is open to all, without distinction of race, gender or creed. All services are provided free of charge to the patient. The annual running costs are approximately £3.5million of which nearly £2million has to be raised each year from public donations. The Hospice operates under the care of the Sisters of Charity. Please show some charity before the Clyde game. As a side note. Could I urge all visiting supporters to have a collection on the bus before arriving at the ground? Supporter’s club donations are also very welcome on the day. At last Wednesday night’s Old Firm CIS cup ¼ final. Martin O’Donoghue a member of The Port Glasgow Emerald CSC collapsed and died at Celtic Park. Martin was a very well respected member of this branch and his very sudden departure caused a great deal of sadness for his family and friends. Martin leaves his wife Lynne and his two little girls Kerry & Mollie. Our thoughts are with his family and friends on this very sad occasion. May you rest in peace Martin. You’ll never walk alone.

Lhads, I'm an Irish Bhoy and I'm currently writing and researching for a book I propose to write on the Irish connections to Celtic, ie. Irish born players/founders/Tricolour ete etc. The Irish media is all to easy to print ' why do we support a team that plays its football in Scotland' and I aim to rebuke that statement. Some even go to other cities to cheer for their home teams. When there is an important game, it is almost impossible to get the tickets, these football fans help make city livelier in its general atmosphere it has always been the favorite sport in my family. I don’t know if you have a view on this but….. In light of the crowd at the European game I wondered if the association had any views on asking the club to introduce a number given by the club with the season book where if any fan who has a season book isn’t going to the game they can phone the club and the club can then attempt to sell the seat in question at a fee which part of would go to the season book holder. C'mon the Hoops! The 3rd European Supporters Cup will be played in Barcelona, Spain on Saturday, 28th May 2005, involving a mix of supporters teams from all over Europe in a friendly, but competitive atmosphere. This is an invitation to see you might be interested in sending a team of Celtic fans to join us for this superb footballing event. The games are played at Spanish first division club RCD Espanyol's excellent training facilities, with high quality artificial pitches, not far from the city centre. We do everything to make sure that football comes first, and all participating teams will play a minimum of four forty minute matches in a seriously organised competition. Teams from all over Europe are invited to take part – the idea being that they are representative of the different clubs or national teams that they support or are named after – so we much prefer it if teams play in that team’s kit. The event is followed by a meal and trophy presentation for all teams taking part. Our all-inclusive package covers three nights hotel accommodation in central Barcelona, all match fees, transport between the airport, hotel and tournament venue, and the all-you-can-eat post-tournament gala meal. We can also arrange a friendly on Sunday either against one of the competing teams or against a local Catalan team. All of this for just 300 euros per player and 250 euros per guest. All you need to do is get yourselves here - we’ll see to the rest. As well as the football, there are always plenty of other things to see and do in Barcelona, and the weather is usually great in late May (and there is a terrific beach in Barcelona). We can arrange tickets to see RCD Espanyol’s last game of the season at the Olympic Stadium (against Athletic Club Bilbao). As both Espanyol and Bilbao have teams in our tournament, we will ensure that the tournament does not coincide with the game, so that everybody gets the chance to go. Music fans will be interested to know that the Primavera Sound festival will be held that weekend, which always includes some big name bands. Now in it’s third year, this is a truly international football event, and it would be great if you were able to join us! Dear all. I have been conversing with Bryan Slaven who posted an idea on 'tictalk' via the Celtic Web Site. He has come up with the idea of a Celtic Subscription Scheme. (the idea being that as many supporters as possible contributing 100 pounds towards a transfer kitty). Bryan and myself have been contacting as many supporters clubs around the world (approx 150 contacted)to gain support and so far the reults have been very encouraging. The aim is for 100,000 supporters = 10million towards a transfer budget. The idea is very much in its infancy and so all we are looking for is an indication of numbers willing to paticipate. I am a supporter of hibernian fc who was at tynecastle stadium for the derby match vs hearts on the 23/11/03 and i would like to warn all celtic supporters before your clubs visit to tynecastle stadium for your spl match next year.That during the edinburgh derby match that hearts fc have told their stewards to remove irish flags and scarfs from the roseburn stand as some of the hibernian supporters had their Erin go bragh flags and scarfs taken off them.While the hearts fans had union jack flags in their main stand and they were also singing rangers songs at the hibernian supporters in the roseburn stand and the hearts stewards and police done nothing about it.Keep the green flag flying high.Erin go bragh

As you probably know, towards the end of last season Celtic FC dropped the official chat link from the official web pages. The chat link was a great success and allowed Celts from around the world to talk to one another whilst listening to the match on the official webcast.

We are happy to announce that a few of the chat link diehards have gotten together and the channels are now re-opened. We wish to stress that the channels have no connection with Celtic FC but are open to all supporters of the Hoops.

Hopefully this mail will give you the information you need to be able to join us - the channels will be open for every match this season - competition games and friendlies.

To the left hand side of this page you will see a button saying chat. Click on this and you will be taken into the Celtic Family Stand. At this point you will only have Celtic Fan as your id.

At the bottom there is a config button.Click on here and it will take you to a new window where you can change your name to your own personal nickname and choose whicg stand you want to chat in. Use the scroll down to opt between North, Family or Jock Stein.

If you are having a problem with this don't worry about it. As long as you make it into the Family Stand there will be an admin there to talk you through connecting to the other channels.

The other way to connect is by using MIRC. This will give you more possibilities with regards to joining other channels, chatting privately, chatting in several channels simultaneously and so on. For people who already have this application the channels to join are:

For people who don't have the necessary software and want to connect in this way go to http://www.mirc.com

The software is free of charge. At the top of the page select your country and it will redirect you. At the left hand side you will see download mIRC. Click on this and it will bring up a list of links of where you can download from.When you click on any of these it will bring up a download box. Select save to disk.

When the file is downloaded you have to install it. It's pretty straight forward but for further details go to http://www.mirc.co.uk/install.html

If you scroll down to step 3 on this page you will see a grey window. When you go to use mIRC this is what will come up on your screen.You want to use the drop down menu to change IRC network from all to DALnet. Fill in the other details ie. e-mail and nick name you want to use and press on OK.

At the top under file there is an icon that looks like a bolt of lightning.Click on this and you will be connected to DALnet.

When you are connected it will bring up a new window mIRC channels folder. In this box you can type one of the three following depending on what stand you wish to go to - or indeed join all three channels!

I hope this is easy enough for you all to understand and hope it enables you all to come back and lend the support you always have done in past seasons.

To: Celtic Fans Glasgow Celtic Football Club has a name synonymous all over the world with fair play, attractive and successful football and a name that has affiliations not only in Scotland and Ireland but worldwide. Recently however the club has approached Celtic supporters clubs with regard to the validity or the reasoning behind their names. The Problem stems apparently with some clubs having names either having no connection to Celtic or names that are linked to Irish political figures from the past or present. This petition is not to endorse the beliefs of any organisation that use violence as a mean to an end or to glorify the names of people who engaged in such violence. This petition is against Celtic (The Company) forcing us the supporters (The Consumer’s) to change things that are under the control of individual club committees, not Celtic Football Club. This petition is not about the rights or wrongs of Irish Republicanism or the songs associated with it, neither has it an agenda connected with it. It is for the right of a group of people who are both the supporters and consumers of a club and have a right to band together to call themselves what they please by the due process of their constitutions. If the club’s in question are breaking no legal laws why does their name concern Celtic Football Club.

If you believe that Celtic Football club has no right to dictate to the constitutional rules of a club committee then please sign below. I emphasize that his petition is not about endorsing sectarianism or Irish republicanism but simply the right of a group of people to choose a name for their club without harassment. I ask if you could pass this on to all Celtic supporters even if you yourself don’t agree with the above as to get a proper reflection of the views of all Celtic fans.
