BELLAMY JOINS CELTIC ON LOAN
Celtic have signed Craig Bellamy on loan from Newcastle United until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old snubbed a £6million move to Birmingham City earlier on Monday.
The Wales international branded Newcastle boss Graeme Souness a liar in a televised interview last week, and was told he would never play again for the club during the Scot's reign.
Now Bellamy will link up with fellow Wales team-mate John Hartson in the Celtic attack.
Parkhead manager Martin O'Neill has bolstered his front-line after the departure of Henri Camara to Southampton earlier on Monday evening.
A Celtic statement said: "Celtic are delighted to announce that, after successful completion of a medical examination, Newcastle United striker Craig Bellamy has signed for the club on loan until the end of this season."
The Glasgow giants hold a slender three-point advantage over Old Firm rivals Rangers in the Bank of Scotland Premier League.

Henchoz move sealed by O'Neill meeting.
New Celtic defender Stephane Henchoz insists one meeting with Martin O’Neill and
the memory of a UEFA Cup tie at Parkhead was all it took to convince him to join
the club.
The Switzerland international, who was a target for Rangers earlier this month,
has joined the Hoops until the end of the season from Liverpool.
Henchoz said: “I am very happy with the deal – especially as I am leaving one
great club to come to another great club.
“There were a few other clubs interested in signing me but as soon as I heard of
Celtic’s interest and met Martin O’Neill then that was it.
“After I met Martin, I knew Celtic was the right club for me.
“And after Liverpool playing here in European competition, I know all about the
atmosphere that is created by the Celtic support here in the stadium and I can’t
wait to experience that in a Celtic shirt.
“I am also looking forward to meeting up with the players here after those UEFA
Cup games and seeing so much of Celtic on TV in the Champions League.”
But Henchoz is also aiming to bank silverware as Celtic chase their fourth Bank
of Scotland Premier League title in five years.
He added: “There are 15 games left in the league. I hope to play a part in not
only retaining the title for Celtic, but also adding the Scottish Cup to lift
the double.”
Henchoz, who cost Liverpool £3.5m (€5m) when he joined from Blackburn in 1999,
had been interesting Celtic’s Old Firm rivals, as well as a number of English
clubs, including Bolton.
But Martin O’Neill was determined to land the experienced international, who
initially had expressed a preference for staying in England.
Henchoz’s new team-mate Bobo Balde has been linked with moves to Everton and
Middlesbrough, and although there seem unlikely to be developments on that front
until the summer, in the meantime Celtic will be strong in the centre-back
department.

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has no plans to revive his interest in
Dwight Yorke.
The 33-year-old striker has been told he can leave Birmingham, whom he
chose over the Scottish champions after leaving Blackburn last summer.

United front man.

Celtic midfielder Juninho has slammed manager Martin O'Neill, adding that
he is ready to leave the club due to the lack of opportunities afforded to him
in the first-team.
The 31-year-old pint-sized Brazilian play-maker told the Daily Record: "If I
have no future at Celtic, then it makes sense for them to let me go because they
can use my wages to spend on players the manager does want.
"If I have no part in his (O'Neill's) plans, there is no point in remaining here
waiting for a chance that never comes.
"The manager has had a lot of chances to put me in his team but it hasn't
happened. If that is the case, then this is the opportunity for me to go. That
would be good for the club and good for me."
The former Middlesbrough idol continued his lament, bawling: "When a manager
brings a new player to the club he gives that player support. That's what
disappoints me most. Since I came here, I have never had his support - that's
the way I see it.
"It's a bit strange and, to be honest, I don't know why I'm here at all.
"He put me in the team at the beginning but he didn't give me any time. I'm left
to feel that I have never had his support.
"I was very excited when I came here. The supporters were excited as well.
That's why I don't understand what has happened - there are a lot of questions
without answers.

BBJ says deal me in.
Celtic striker John Hartson has signed a new two-year contract extension.
The Welsh international, whose current deal expires this summer, has become a big favourite at Parkhead but fans were anxious that he could return to England or move to the Continent as negotiations continued into the January transfer window.
But this morning the 29-year-old finally committed himself to the club until May 2007.
The Swansea-born frontman, who joined the club from Coventry in August 2001, has hit 77 goals from 139 appearances and Martin O'Neill will have been relieved to conclude matters.
The former Luton, Arsenal, West Ham and Wimbledon striker has always stressed his desire to extend his stay in Glasgow.
However, Hartson refused to rule out a move if Celtic failed to come up with the terms he felt he deserved.
Big-spending Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin and Blackburn were prepared to throw money his way as the 29-year-old Hartson looked for a major pay-day before quitting.

Bobo must wait on SFA decision.
Celtic defender Bobo Balde will have to wait before discovering if he will face a Scottish Football Association investigation.
The Guinea international was incensed after appearing to be caught by Livingston striker Jim Hamilton during the Hoops' 2-1 Bank of Scotland Premier League win on Sunday.
The former Toulouse man then seemed to have pushed Hamilton in the face later in the game.
The SFA used video evidence to ban Henri Camara and Nacho Novo following unsavoury incidents during the ugly Old Firm game at Ibrox in November.
It was thought that the player would hear today if he was to face similar charges but SFA head of discipline Drew Herbertson said: "There will be nothing decided today but it will be dealt with in the next couple of days."

Celtic knock back Inverness in Wallace loan bid.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle have failed in a bold attempt to take Celtic winger Ross Wallace on loan.
Inverness player-boss Craig Brewster spoke to Celtic assistant manager John Robertson about the Wallace move.
Brewster told BBC Sport: "I thought that giving the player a run of games might appeal to Celtic but understand why they rate him so highly."
Robertson told Brewster that there was no chance of the 19-year-old Wallace being released for the rest of the season.
"John was fine about my approach and agreed with me that, if you don't ask, you don't get," added Brewster.
Wallace has made 14 appearances for Celtic this season.
