Bayern Munich - fined by UEFA.

Bayern Munich have been fined by UEFA for the use of illegal advertising during the Champions League match against Celtic at the Olympic Stadium last season.

Originally ordered to pay 50,000 euros (£33,381) for the infringement, UEFA reduced the fine to 17,000 (£11,350) upon appeal in Nyon on Wednesday for advertising the club sponsor T-Mobile.com inside the stadium.

As is the case in Bundesliga games, a group of supporters are handed white shirts to form the logo of the German telecommunications firm in the stand facing the cameras.

However, this breached strict advertising regulations for Champions League games, which are marketed separately to all national leagues and individual teams and are identical throughout every stadium in Europe hosting a Champions League game.

Snippets from the latest Working Party 14-07-04

Fans can expect to pay between £1.50-£1.70 extra PER TICKET when booking for home matches through Ticketmaster.  This will mostly affect non season ticket holders, however if say you want an extra 4 or 5 tickets for a premier league match out with Rangers it will cost you the extra PER TICKET over and above the price of the ticket.

Calls to Ticketmaster will NOT be charged at premium rates. Maximum waiting time should be no more than 10 minutes, 70 operators at any time dealing with ticket enquiries 16 hours a day 365 days a week, this could rise to 100 operators at peak times.

Prices for the Champions League: look like being, although not cast in stone.

3 game package £75 minimum

Individual matches £29 per game

Non season book holders £33 or £34 per match

Investors three game package £165

No change to distribution with regard to away matches in Europe, whatever we tend to think about Lonsdale (they will get allocation again, the amount they get will depend on the opposition)

Forms for Champions League tickets will be sent out by the end of next week, closing date will be 13th August 2004.

Yet another new strip could be winging it way to us, this depends on discussions surrounding the remainder of our current contract with Umbro.

Tottenham game could be subject to change AGAIN or even scrapped altogether if Rangers are drawn to play at Ibrox in their Champions League qualifier, their game is scheduled to be played on either the Tuesday or Wednesday night. The police will not allow both Celtic and Rangers to play in Glasgow on the same evening.

Loads more discussed, lack of new signings, Setanta, Celtic TV, new Champions Club lounge, trouble at ferry ports for Irish fans, re-orginisation of staff within the Club and various other topics.

Meeting lasted around three hours.

Full copy of minutes will be posted on the various supporters’ organisations websites as soon as we have them.

CELTIC STARS IN TOWN FOR FORUM

Two legends of Scottish football make guest appearances at a sports forum in Port Talbot tomorrow. John Kelly Deans and Jim Craig will recall their days playing for Celtic in the 1960s and 1970s at the forum at Aberavon Green Stars RFC.

Their visit is part of a national promotional tour and coincides with the launch of the town's Celtic Supporters' Club. Deans - nicknamed Dixie - went down in Glasgow folklore by scoring hat-tricks in two Scottish Cup finals. Craig, meanwhile, was a member of the team which famously defeated Inter Milan 2-1 in the 1967 European Cup final.
